Irish Industrial production for manufacturing industries for January 2015 was 0.1% lower than in December 2014 according to the CSO Monday.
On an annual basis production for January 2015 increased by 11.7% when compared with January 2014. The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for the three months November 2014 to January 2015 was 3.2% lower than in the preceding three month period.
The “Modern” Sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed a monthly decrease in production for January 2015 of 3.3%. There was a monthly increase of 0.3% in the “Traditional” Sector.
Data are usually volatile and the booking of overseas manufacturing for tax avoidance purposes can also be volatile.
There was an increase of 12.0% in the seasonally adjusted industrial turnover index for Manufacturing Industries in January 2015 when compared with December 2014. On an annual basis turnover increased by 31.2% when compared with January 2014.
