The Minister for Enterprise, Trade
and Innovation, Batt O’Keeffe TD, today announced that US firm ServiceSource is
to add 70 new jobs in Dublin. Meanwhile on Monday, O'Keeffe announced an
extra €55m investment to support start-up firms.
ServiceSource, provides performance solutions for the high-tech, healthcare and
life science sectors and is to expand its Dublin headquarters serving the
European, Middle-East and Asian (EMEA) markets. The expansion will create 70 new
'highly skilled' positions, bringing the workforce in the Sandyford-based firm
to 380.
O'Keefe said ServiceSource is the world’s leading provider of cloud
computing-enabled solutions which boost service revenue performance for
technology, healthcare and life science clients. The firm has six global service
centres for technology and healthcare information technology customers in more
than 30 languages across 100 countries. Clients include Microsoft, Adobe,
Symantec, AT&T and GE Healthcare and it established its Dublin headquarters for
the EMEA markets in 2005, initially planning to recruit 110 workers.
On Monday, O'Keeffe announced
an extra €55m investment in Irish start-up firms bringing the total to €187m
over six years to help entrepreneurs get businesses off the ground.
The Government expects the number of new HPSUs (high-potential start-up)
generated by supports from its indigenous job creation agency, Enterprise
Ireland, to rise from 70 this year to 100 by 2016 following the extra €55m
funding injection. Last year, Enterprise Ireland supported 73 HPSUs, with the
same number forecast for this year.
