|CRH Chief Executive Liam O’Mahony rings The Opening Bell on April 4, 2006 at the New York Stock Exchange. CRH is the largest US building materials group.
CRH announced today that Liam O’Mahony as Group Chief Executive who will retire on 1 January 2009, is to remain on the board as a non-executive director.
As announced on 22 May 2008, Myles Lee, currently Group Finance Director, will take over from O’Mahony in January.
The Putin-like move is unusual.
Credit where it's due - CRH - - the world's second-biggest building materials company and the biggest in the United States- - has become the only world class company operating across the globe, which developed from its Irish base, during the Celtic Tiger years.
CRH said today that O’Mahony"has accepted an invitation to continue as a member of the Board of CRH plc in a non-executive capacity."
