Australian trader turned private investor guru and business angel, Richard Farleigh (b. 1960), will be the keynote speaker at the annual Delta Index Investor Conference. A former Dragon from BBC's The Dragon's Den, Richard Farleigh will share his personal investment and trading strategies. The conference will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel on Saturday 29 March 2008 at 1.15pm.
Richard Farleigh will talk about how his career path from investment banker to derivatives trader and to hedge funds manager finally emerging from an "early retirement" at 34 as a business angel. He is also author of best selling book titled ''100 Secret Investment Strategies'' which covers all kinds of investing and is suitable for both amateurs and professionals. A free copy of his book will be available for all attendees to the conference.
Chilli.com says: Born in Kyabram, Victoria, Australia, Farleigh had a tough upbringing, as the son of an alcoholic sheep shearer with a large family of 11 children. He was sent to a foster home at the age of three and was described as “backward” by one of his early teachers. He went onto earn a 1st class honours degree in economics from the University of New South Wales. After a brief stint with the Reserve Bank of Australia, he cut his investment teeth at the trading desk of Bankers Trust, where he spent 10 years.
