Sky TV establishes Customer Service Centre in Cork

Abtran,  an Irish firm specialising in business process outsourcing, has been awarded a major contract to support the expansion of Sky Ireland’s customer management operations in Ireland.  Abtran will provide customer services in Ireland on behalf of Sky for its 465,000 householder customers.  The move will lead to the creation of 100 new jobs at Abtran’s Cork headquarters where 350 staff are already currently employed. 

Recruitment has already begun, and the new operation will officially open in June/July this year.

Abtran is a strategic business partner for corporate and government clients in Ireland and worldwide.  The company specialises particularly in the provision of strategic customer management and fulfilment services, including dedicated front and back office functions and financial transaction processing.   The company has particular expertise in the utilities, communications, financial services and public sectors processing millions of individual contacts and transactions on behalf of clients each year.

The Sky Ireland contract award follows a year of expansion by Abtran.  The company has invested substantially in research and development and professional services enabling it to capitalise on opportunities in the growing market for business process outsourcing worldwide.  The Irish company predicts further expansion in the current year.
